Stripping Paint from Plastic Models
May 11, 2014
one of the problem in painting models, is finding a way to strip the paint off without harming the plastic just incase you make a mistake in the painting process. i have tried many solutions but for me, break fluid works best.
materials:
-break fluid
-old brush
-dish or plastic bowl
i made a mistake in my titanium finish, so i would be stripping 3 layers of paint in one go without harming the plastic at all.
start by filling your dish with the right amount of break fluid, and let the part rest on in.
brush on the fluid and let it settle on the part for a few minutes.
when you see paint starting to come off start brushing it more until you start to see the bare plastic underneath.
once the paint is all off, rinse the part in running water till the break fluid residue is removed.
and thats all you need to strip your paint safely.
let dry
