Not only that, the client happily agreed to my requested set of things I thought might come in handy. That saves me a trip to my local hobby shop. I already opened up the kit and I can say it may be a basic kit to build, forgetting the fact that this comes with LED and moves! How cool is that?! For me that is one of the major plus points to this kit and i'm very excited to begin my first commission of the year, with another great kit to work on!

Till next time!

Really pleased to see less runners which means less work haha, but its not a surprise for a 1/72 scale model.

Decal sheet

The details are looking really fine so far for a small kit, and its just right that it is.

another decal sheet? That's right, this kits come with both water slide decals and clear stickers. So you are free to use the one you are most comfortable with.

And it's done. Decided to finish the assembly of this kit as quickly as I can because I just really want to start painting again.. Its been to long since my last COMPLETED project.

I wont be doing any modifications on this kit, so it's a straight build paint kind of thing with weathering on the sides. Hope to be posting more about this soon.

Till next time!

Focus on the trooper not the little brother...

hehe who needs clothes when you have. model kits.

I was able to purchase both these kits for 138 HKD each and that is a big price drop to be honest. All you need to do is canvas the area and find the best deals before buying . Next thing you know you found kits as cheap as candy. (the cheap candy)

I as able to bring home an RG Zaku and a 1/72 scale X-Wing Fighter which I will be unboxing in my next post.

Also found a hobby shop that sells gunpla parts, metal, to recast, to resin! It was mod heaven.

So, to not waste my trip... also picked up metal detail on parts for my RG Zaku which I hope to start some work on, the moment I clear some backlog and projects.

Really happy of this buy. Instead of having to pay much more and wait for my order to get shipped. This one i just picked of a rack!

And that wraps up my hauls from Hong Kong!

Each pack has two small sheets and strips of double sided tape to attach it.

Found good detail work on this part.

But unfortunately its positioned underneath it's face armor. Now my goal here is to bore an opening (neatly) to make these details be seen.

Started off by tracing the area I want to remove using a pencil.

Then I followed up with my pin vise. remember to drill the holes INSIDE the outline, you'd want space to file down later on in the process.

Viola, it should look something like this if done properly. Drilling holes isn't so easy especially if the surface you're planing to cover is vast, so I do suggest getting a rotary tool to make things easier for you and your fingers.

Next, using your hobby blade or xacto knife, cut out the outline in which you drilled. Its just like connecting the dots, so remember when drilling.. keep the distances between holes as close as possible.

Once you cleared of majority of the plastic, it would appear rough and messy. You may use your hobby blade to smoothen it a bit, then start working your way in with your file to properly get those edges and get a cleaner finish.

Since you have your opening, we may now proceed to applying the mesh. Check the size needed and cut this out accordingly.

The pack comes with double sided tape but I will be using plastic cement on this one. The styling mesh is made out of plastic so this will work just fine, it also helps settle the mesh into those curves and holds them there.

If you have tweezers, laying on the mesh will be less tedious.

Put a small amount of cement on the plastic before hand to let the mesh have something to grip on, push down with tweezers and add another layer of cement on the edges to secure.

I was also able to apply this technique here. After drilling out a hole, instead of using mesh i cut out thin strips of pla plates and line them up to create vents.

A very classy modification you can add to any of your models.

That's all for now! I hope this helped, if you have any suggestions or requests feel free to comment down below. And sharing will be well appreciated. Spread the hobby!

Till next time.
