The Gundam Model Kit Contest 2017, also known as GMKC was held in the Philippines, at SM North Edsa Annex from June 16 - 26. It is a competition held annually for Gunpla enthusiasts, but this was not just for those who wished to participate in the contest, but also for those who wanted to get into the hobby. Numerous Gundam model kits were set on display, from the latest ones to custom made models, as well as the previous winners of the past GMKC. There was an area that also gave you the chance to assemble your very own Gundam for free! And to those who felt like spending, model kits and materials were on sale just by the contest grounds. 

But The main attraction would be the competition itself, here a multitude of Gunpla enthusiasts will put their creativity and skills to the test to be able to produce the most outstanding model. To those who wanted to participate, there were three main categories; open, youth and junior, each with their "new-challenger" sub categories. Those who won in these categories were rewarded with even more kits to assemble and some, a flight to see the Gundam Expo in Korea! But in the end, what matters is that we got to appreciate all the entries made by our fellow gunpla builders and maybe even found inspiration in some of their works.
